Short Bio / Message from the Candidate:
Education:
Mount Vernon High School • Class of 2011
Kaskaskia College • Class of 2012
University of Southern Indiana • Class of 2014
Indiana University Maurer School of Law• Class of 2017
I graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 2011. I was a member of the national honors society, and graduated with Academic
Honors and Highest Honors. I developed two passions while I was there, soccer and becoming a prosecutor.
After high school I continued to follow my dreams by playing soccer at Kaskaskia College. I
graduated Suma Cum Laude after 1 year with my Associate of Science degree. I returned home to continue my education at USI.
At USI, I majored in Political Science and minored in Pre-Law. I was the Pre-Law Club President and the Political Science Society President. I was awarded the Brooks Inn of Courts Pre-Law Scholarship which is awarded to the top student preparing for a career in law. I was also awarded the Academic Achievement Award in Political Science which is awarded to a student who is a senior political science major, and ranks among those with the highest GPAs in the major as well as a high GPA overall. The members of the department discuss the potential candidates and select the winner by majority vote. I graduated USI Suma Cum Laude with Academic Honors.
I attended IU Maurer on a full tuition scholarship. While at IU I focused on criminal law with my
internships, and explored all areas of law with my classes. I was awarded the highest grade in my Deliberative Leadership class and my Gender in the Law class. I was also an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Protective Order Project.
Personal Life:
After law school, I was hired as the Mt. Vernon Girls Soccer Head Coach and a Certified Legal
Intern for the Warrick County Prosecutors Office pending my passing of the Indiana Bar Exam
(and then I was sworn in as a deputy prosecutor).
Since 2017, I have been the Mount Vernon Girls Soccer head coach and a Warrick County deputy prosecutor. I have also coached numerous other teams ranging from Park and Rec 2nd and 3rd graders to travel teams. Soccer is one of my passions, and I have enjoyed sharing that with the kids I coach.
In 2018, I met my husband, Caleb. He was a Combat Engineer in the Marine Corps. After serving nearly 5 years on active duty, he returned to the Midwest to attend USI. We got married in 2020. He is starting his senior year of Civil Engineering in the fall.
In 2021, my parents were looking for a piece of property to build their retirement dreams on. I
found a gorgeous piece of ground in Tell City. We all fell in love with the area, and began the
process of building our dreams there.
My favorite hobby is running marathons. My goal is to run a marathon and a half marathon in
every state. I enjoy running, and I believe the dedication it takes to train for marathons has helped keep me disciplined in all aspects of my life. It is a constant reminder that success is rented not owned. and rent is due everyday.
I am a dedicated public servant. My work ethic has made me successful in the past, and I look
forward to working hard for Perry County.
