Running For: Perry County Circuit Court Clerk

Short Bio / Message from the Candidate:

My name is Rachel Roark and I am currently the Perry County Circuit Court Clerk. I happily live
in Tell City, married to my husband Chris Roark. We both have been residents of Perry County
our whole life. We have 5 beautiful children: Breckin & Brennon East, and Terissa, Kaden &
Makenzy Roark. I am a member of Redemption Christian Church out of Jasper but will be
attending the new campus here in Tell City. I graduated from Tell City High School in 2000 and
from the University of Southern Indiana in 2004 with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary
Education and a Minor in Social Studies with a Middle School Endorsement. As a lifetime
resident of this community, running for the Perry County Clerk is not only an honor but a
privilege to serve the residents of Perry County. I joined the Clerk’s Office on January 2, 2015
and on April 1, 2020 I was caucused in from First Deputy Clerk to the Clerk when the office was
vacated by the previous Clerk. At the time I was promoted, I was faced with the undertaking of
running the upcoming election, but also educating myself on all the duties and responsibilities of
the Clerk’s position and attending all necessary training opportunities in Indianapolis. This was
a huge undertaking for myself and my staff as the office was also short a full-time employee.
Nonetheless, as a dedicated team, my staff and I pushed forward and had a successful election
process. Fast forward to today and I am honored and extremely grateful to have your support as
the Clerk for the upcoming election. The Clerk’s position demands outstanding people skills and
working with the entire courthouse staff and the public. I believe wholeheartedly in this famous
quote: “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I care about
the people of Perry County and will continue to work hard to serve them well.
