Short Bio / Message from the Candidate:
Warren was born in Ft. Knox Kentucky as his father was serving in the military, and also lived in Germany for a time.
He has served a lifetime to public service including, Tell City Police Department Patrolman - Detective - Fire and Arson Investigator, Training Officer and, assisted in the start up of the Reserve program at the Tell City Police Department as well as Safety Town USA for children.
He served the Tell City Fire Department 4 years and the Branchville Correctional Fire Department 23 years both in a fireman capacity.
While serving as Perry County Sheriff - he started the Deputy Sheriff Reserve Program as well as adding one of Perry County's first K9 Units, his loyal canine partner Duke.
He served the Jennings County Sheriff Department in the Dick Wilson administration as Jail Officer, Dispatcher and Road Deputy.
Warren served at the Marion County Sheriff Department, in the Joe Macatee administration as jail officer and the North Vernon Police Department as Patrolman serving Police Chief Steve Hoppock and the Indiana Department of Corrections, as Correctional Officer, REC staff, Count Officer and Dispatcher.
Warren is also a Former EMT and a visiting Instructor (EVOC) Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
Warren served 3 years as a Deputy Coroner before assuming duties of Perry County Coroner in November of 2019.
Warren officiated Basketball and Volleyball for approximately 25 years and coached girls softball for approximately 10 years.
Many may know Warren as 1/2 of the radio broadcast team of "Sprague and Taylor" for 10 years, the voices of Perry Central, and Tell City basketball and football.
Warren was also active member with Ducks Unlimited, Hoosier Hand Gunners, Chapter U Gold Wing Riders and is a active member of the Indiana Coroner Association, International Coroners and Medical Examiners Association, Perry County Park and Recreation Board, and lifetime member of the Indiana Sheriff Association and is a member of the Tell City Moose Lodge.
Warren and wife Cindi (Foerster) reside in Tell City.
He is known to boast about his 3 amazing adult kids - two sons Ryan and Brandon and daughter Allegra.
It really goes without saying...he is a very proud Papaw to 3 grandchildren, granddaughter Rylyn, and 2 very energetic grandsons Landon - and the newest arrival Finn.
