Short Bio / Message from the Candidate:
Pamela L. Goffinet has announced her candidacy for the office of Perry County Treasurer for
the Democratic nomination.
Goffinet lives in rural Perry County and is married to Mark A. Goffinet. They have two
daughters, Kayla Goffinet, who is a registered nurse at the Women’s Hospital in Newburgh, IN,
and Lynsay Peter, who is a Community Services Representative at Harrison Springs Health
Campus in Corydon, IN. Goffinet was raised in Tell City and is the oldest child of the late
David A. and Marcella DeVillez.
Goffinet graduated from Tell City High School in 1982. She was hired in the Auditor’s
office in January 1983 as part time clerical. In March 1984, she was hired full time. In January
2007 to 2014, she held the position of Chief Deputy Auditor. Goffinet was elected Perry
County Auditor as of January 1, 2015 to the present.
She is a member of St. Isidore Church. She was a member of the 2007/2008
Leadership Perry County class, Perry County 4-H Livestock Committee, and a member of the
church council. She has participated with the United Day of Caring, March of Dimes Walk, and
the Relay for Life. Goffinet has served as Vice President of the Southwest District Auditor’s
Association. She is currently serving as President of the Association of Indiana Counties
Southwest District. She has attended numerous conferences conducted by the State Board of
Accounts to keep up with continuing changes in county government.
Goffinet’s years of experience in the Auditor’s office has made her very aware of how
essential it is in making county government run smoothly. The Treasurer’s office is
responsible for collecting in keeper’s tax, collecting property tax dollars, maintaining and
balancing county banks and reconciling county banks to name a few.
“I feel the knowledge and experience I have obtained over the years working in the
Auditor’s office has given me the necessary qualifications to serve as your next Perry County
Treasurer. I am confident, hard-working and determined to devote myself in doing the best job
possible. I plan to run the office with accountability and professionalism and ensure fair and
friendly service to the citizens of Perry County.”
