Short Bio / Message from the Candidate:

Gary Lemon is a Professor of Economics and Management at DePauw
University, where he has been employed since 1976. He has written a
book, Savvy Investing, listed as one of the 16 must-read investment
books. He has appeared on television, been interviewed on radio, and
quoted on national media sites about how individuals should invest
their money. He also serves on the Lincoln Variable Insurance Products
Board (one of the S&P 250 largest companies in the US), where he has
served as chair of the investment committee overseeing more than 70
mutual funds with more than 70 billion dollars invested in stock
markets worldwide. He serves on the Greencastle Redevelopment
Commission, the Friends of the Park Board, and the Putnam County
Aviation Board. He has previously served on the Putnam County
Community Foundation Board Investment Committee, the Greencastle City
Council, and the Putnam County Development Center board.
Gary and his wife Susan have two sons, Mark and Michael, who graduated
from Greencastle High School, and two grandchildren, Tessa and
Chandler. Susan is a retired social worker.
Gary is running for an at-large position on the Greencastle city
council. He believes that wise expenditure of citizens' tax dollars is
important, ensuring that those tax funds significantly impact the
city's future. "We have made major progress in the past two decades
and must continue investing in the city to have a brighter future. It
is incumbent on the city to evaluate where tax dollars are spent so
that the city will have an even brighter future".
