Short Bio / Message from the Candidate:

My name is Mark Northener. I am 56-year-old. I hold a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Southern Indiana. My wife of 32 Years is the former Becky Sturgeon. We have two Sons-Charlie 30 and Logan 25. Both graduated from Cannelton High School and then the University of Southern Indiana.

I have worked in the operations side of the trucking industry for 33 years and currently hold the position of Terminal Manager for Ace Doran Hauling and Rigging. My wife and I are members of the First Baptist Church in Cannelton where I serve as a deacon, trustee, and help to coordinate our youth outreach program (Youth Refuge). I am on the board of Cannelton Roots and Volunteer in other events in the city.

In the past 4 years I have served on the Cannelton City Council and am Currently seeking re-election. If re-elected, I want to continue to push for the enforcement of all city ordinances and to help clean up our city to make it a better place to live for everyone. This in turn will help raise property values and potentially bring in more businesses. I also want to work to get the city on an actual “physical” budget.
